I just got this in the mail last week, and to my dismay, when I took it out of its pot it was actually two pieces of a severed plant. One piece wasn't worth saving (no roots, about 3 pseudobulbs) and the other was the one I kept. It has about 5 pseudobulbs, and some roots but nothing green. They're not mushy, they're just solid beige colored roots that don't appear to be active. It does have two new little eyes starting to take off. I've potted up normally like I would any other Catt. - in a clay pot that just a hair bigger than the existing root system to allow for growth in medium bark, with a layer of spag. on top. I previously soaked in in a fertilizer and Superthrive solution.

Now, I'm not just too concerned about it yet, as I've never lost a Cattleya before and I've had this particular one before and it grew like a damn weed. It is one of my favorites. What do y'all think? I figure as long as it has new eyes growing the roots will follow suit, per usual. Should I water it more often? Leave it alone so it's forced to grow new roots? I've heard both suggestions before...

As you can see, this particular hybrid is nothing short of stunning.
